PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In 2014, DBRDS was invited to provide feasibility studies for a vacant property in Santee, CA. The site is currently used as a seasonal ‘pumpkin patch’ that brings the community together throughout the year, and the owners wanted to explore options to develop the site.

Their initial thought was for a single-use drive-thru. Another fast-food option in a community iwth 20+ options already.

Our ‘alterntive’ was driven by the commuity-oriented history of the site - to provide a multi-purpose community center that would continue to hub of activation & gathering. Internal spaces woudl include a flexible meeting & event spaces, community services, and a coffee shop, while the parking lot ould continue to provide seasonal event opportunities.
