PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In late 2023, DBRDS was invited by the Wat Lao Buddharam of San Diego community to collaborate on the design of a new Buddhist Temple on their Encanto neighborhood campus. This new temple is not only a spiritual refuge and a beautiful building, it also serves the community in accordance with the Theravada Buddhist traditions. A thoughtfully curated ornate contribution to the neighborhood, the campus cultivates culture and connectivity among neighboring residents and often opens its doors to the nearby school - being an active participant hosting public events throughout the year. 

When DBRDS was engaged to design an expansion to their facilities, it was no surprise to see the neighbors come out to the community workshops impassioned and excited about the future  Wat Lao Buddharam of San Diego community. It is an honor to be part of a project that will contribute to the San Diego Buddharam society and it's future impact across the generations that will visit, celebrate and seek peace in this new and meaningful space.
